Prompted by the "Other brands of turnout rug" thread - are you loyal to a specific brand/brands for particular horsey stuff? Had a think about it, mine's all pretty mixed, although I have quite a lot of Joules :o

So, do you always/usually buy a specific brand of -

Turnout rug?
Stable rug?
Horse boots?
Numnah/saddle pad?
Jodhpurs/breeches?
Yard jacket?
Yard boots?
Riding boots?
Riding hat?

I'm just curious about the answers :p will put mine up at some point.

Generally I don't stick to a specific brand for any item in particular, but I always buy from Brands that I know of, I'm always suspicious of the quality of brands I've never heard of!!

Turnout rug? Mark Todd although do have some cheap rugs until L stops growing
Stable rug? Same as above
Horse boots? Woof Weat / N.E.W
Numnah/saddle pad? Mark Todd
Jodhpurs/breeches? Mark Todd
Yard jacket? I do like Mark Todd ones
Yard boots? Not fussy, my feet are weird sizes
Riding boots? As above
Riding hat? Champion

I'm just curious about the answers :p will put mine up at some point.

Did I mention I like the Mark Todd range? :p

Turnout rug? Rambo or Weatherbeeta
Stable rug? Rambo or Weatherbeeata (normally Rambo on top, Weatherbeeta underneath!)
Horse boots? don't often use boots, but if they need over reaches I buy cheapy Shires ones, and I love Sabre leather boots if I have something that needs booting up
Numnah/saddle pad? Griffin Nuumed Hi-wither, all the time
Jodhpurs/breeches? Pikeur for competing/hunting/wafting, Dublin for cheap and cheerful every day
Yard jacket? nope...
Yard boots? Ariat Grasmeres, Huntress wellies, or cheap Derby House muckers for working, and Saxon Equileather tall boots for every day riding
Riding boots? Sergio Grasso for competing/hunting, Saxon or Ariat for every day
Riding hat? Patey for competing/hunting, Charles Owen for every day!

Did I mention I like the Mark Todd range? :p

Surely not? I couldn't tell ... :p

Here are mine -

Turnout rug? I like Saxon, because Dylan's an odd shape and has a tendency to destroy turnout rugs that don't fit him properly. Saxons fit :) although I have a HW Shires one for when he's clipped.
Stable rug? No specific preference, think I've got 2 Weatherbeetas, a Saxon, a GFS and a Mark Todd - stable rugs don't get the same treatment as turnouts, thankfully!
Horse boots? He doesn't usually wear any, but the ones I do have are Roma.
Numnah/saddle pad? I've got a huge variety of these, so no.
Jodhpurs/breeches? Derby House or Dublin, always.
Yard jacket? Nope. Got several, no two the same.
Yard boots? I wear Le Chameau wellies for yard work, and I'll get another pair if mine ever snuff it.
Riding boots? Mountain Horse, I've had my Mountain Riders for 6 years and they've never let me down.
Riding hat? Nope, whatever fits. I've had a Charles Owen, a Harry Hall, and a JTE (I've been riding 14 years - I REALLY need to replace hats more often lol)

It makes me wonder how many different "brands" are actually the same manufacturer, just badged differently... and we are somehow persuaded the well marketed brands are best...
Like always buying Kellogs rather than supermarket own brand corn flakes I guess,

Yes - definitely! I think where I am concerned, I find a particular brand that fits him / me well, and is comfortable & good quality - so I stick to it!

Turnout rug? Rhino (1 x LW, 2 x MW, 1 x HW)
Stable rug? Rhino
Horse boots? Premier Equine (1 set in black & 1 in white)
Numnah/saddle pad? Bucas (2 in black, 2 in white)
Jodhpurs/breeches? More variable - Ariat / Just Togs / Gorringe
Yard jacket? Musto (1 quilted, 1 x lightweight jacket, 1 x winter jacket)
Yard boots? Suffolk Tuffas
Riding boots? Mountain Horse Sportive High Riders. This is my 3rd pair!
Riding hat? Charles Owen GR8. This is my 3rd one!

:D

Riding boots?Ariat

I'm just curious about the answers :p will put mine up at some point.

I'm fairly loyal once I find something that works :)

I loff Thermatex and have well, quite a few various pieces. Most are green:D

Here's a saddle pad I (or my machine) embroidered for Sophie

http://picasaweb.google.com/carolp3231/March2010#5449705905802762866

I really want a green vest (gillet?) to match the green pad, and the quarter sheet, numnahs and polos. And green stable sheet and tail guard. And green boots. Yes i am an IDSHDQ (Irish Draught Sport Horse Dressage Queen) And green looks so good on Sophie. Oh yeah, her halter is green, too

I've tried many other saddles but always end up with County.

And my horse has to be at least part ID. Sophie is by Touch of the Blues. FWIW, 2010 is his last year at stud here in the US

I dont think I am. Some things I stick to and others I get if they are a bargain.

Saddles - Was an avid Albion fan, but now have an Ideal as suits horse better
Rugs - Whatever is the correct weight and in my budget. (Do like Wbeeta though)
Yard Boots - Yup Mountain Horse all the way
Show boots - Whatever will fit my fat calves!
Hats - Whatever brand doesn't make me look like a mushroom! (Currently the Fiona hat)
Bridles - Everyday is a cr*ppy imported - Show - Stubben everytime
Feed - Generally stick to what I have
Jods - Mark Todd Breeches as they fit me perfectly.

Now If money wasn't in the equation, then Id probably have horseware/ weatherbeeta rugs always and Pikeur riding clothes and Albion/ Stubben tack (apart from my Ideal saddle as I love it!)

Turnout rug? Always weatherbeeta
Stable rug? As above although dont really use them
Horse boots? dont use them
Numnah/saddle pad? polypad
Jodhpurs/breeches? not bothered...whatever is cheap at robinsons
Yard jacket? not bothered, usually my husbands hand me down walking jackets
Yard boots? any cheap wellies
Riding boots? not bothered as they last years anyway
Riding hat? not bothered but would go for a troxel again

Other than that I always buy Libbys synthetic tack...although rare I need anything new and I am VERY loyal to Damart's thermals in the winter!!!

Turnout rug? Amigo is the best fit for both of them so I stick to this.
Stable rug? N/a
Horse boots? Woof wear
Numnah/saddle pad? Nope, I'll buy anything that's suitable
Jodhpurs/breeches? Harry Hall
Yard jacket? Nope
Yard boots? Dublin usually
Riding boots? Depends on what fits
Riding hat? Charles Owen

Turnout rug? Horseware.
Stable rug? Horseware
Horse boots? Dont use
Numnah/saddle pad? whichever one I like
Jodhpurs/breeches? Any that are comfy and fit my fat ass!
Yard jacket? I have a favourite but dont knwo the make
Yard boots? Ariat
Riding boots? Spanish riding boots - love them!
Riding hat? Champion at the moment but usually any that suits

Hello!
Im not really "loyal" to brands, if i like it and its at a decent price that generally sways my opinion. I do like certain brands more than others, but if i like something and its a good price i dont mind what brand!

Turnout rug? - I tend to either use Amigo or our own brand
Stable rug? - our own brand
Horse boots? - Im a fan of the premier equine boots but i dont actually have any (hah)
Numnah/saddle pad? - I currently have some shires ones as they were on offer but im not that thrilled with their washing quality. I love love love the LeMieux ones theyre by far the best quality but tad pricey since we arent competing at the moment.
Jodhpurs/breeches? - Im a fan of the Hy ones actually theyre thick, heardwearing and colourful :) (and reasonably priced!!)
Yard jacket? - I need a new one, i have a horsewear one but it looks a bit like a bin bag
Yard boots? -Love toggi canyons, but also love the mudrucker wellies
Riding boots? - Not really fussed if they look nice and reasonably priced, ill have them.
Riding hat? - Currently have the harry hall legend hat, but i dont really care, as long as its safe, and good price and doesnt look too bad im not bothered. My last hat made me look horrendous so i was glad for a change :)

It makes me wonder how many different "brands" are actually the same manufacturer, just badged differently... and we are somehow persuaded the well marketed brands are best...
Like always buying Kellogs rather than supermarket own brand corn flakes I guess,

My brother worked for a large food manufacturing company for a number of years. They supplied some of the major supermarkets and some products they supplied were exactly the same apart from the packaging.

On the horsey side I feed speedibeet and various Dengie and D+H products and tend never to steer away from those. Rugs...my 8 ponies have 5 different brands between them..2 Masta, 2 Horseware, 2 Requisite, a Shires and a specialist mini one.

I am quite loyal, I stick to what I know fits so I can buy cheaper online, I'm on a budget and need things that fit and last, and are affordable. I will not eat potnoodle for a fortnight for a new pair of jods!
Turnout rug? Weatherbeeta
Numnah/saddle pad? Roma
Jodhpurs/breeches? - Dublin
Yard jacket? Dublin Empress, three seasons and going strong!
Yard boots? Not picky, wear 'em all out soon enough anyway
Riding boots? Dublin, Ariats for events
Riding hat? New one is a Horze one, which I got because it doesn't make my head look like a muffin. and it doesn't have a ridiculous silver skunk stripe :)

Turnout rug? ONLY Fal or Rambo and I have one premeier equine, nothing else seems to last!
Stable rug? As above!
Horse boots? Whatever fits, but have just bought some of the premier equine air cooled ones
Numnah/saddle pad? I have a massive selection of polypads for every day, and equiport for shows
Jodhpurs/breeches? Love toggi.
Yard jacket? cheap and warm! Got quite a few!
Yard boots? ariat, might try some dubarrys though.
Riding boots? ariat
Riding hat? whatever fits my silly sized head!

Turnout rug? Mostly Weatherbeeta.
Stable rug? Don't use them much but have a couple of different makes.
Horse boots? Don't use.
Numnah/saddle pad? Nuumed
Jodhpurs/breeches? Cavallo or Mark Todd
Yard jacket? Musto. I have a bit of a problem with buying jackets! I have eight I think - four are from Musto.
Yard boots? I have Musto atm but have previously had Dubarrys. Haven't decided which I like best. I haven't trashed the Musto ones yet which is a definite plus!
Riding boots? Ariat.
Riding hat? Have had a couple of different makes.

I tend to be a stick to what you know kinda girl, but recently through caution to the wind and bought some trizone brushing boots instead of woof ones after being recommended them by fellow forumers and they are so far great! I also recently discovered chestfields stuff which is great for me as i'm allergic to everything but this is hypoallergenic so good for horsey and me.

Turnout rug? Bucas or Weatherbeeter.
Stable rug? Don't mind so much; like the Masta ones as the fit seems good.
Horse boots? Woof
Numnah/saddle pad? HKM because they do nice colours
Jodhpurs/breeches? Pikeur
Yard jacket? Anky or Musto
Yard boots? Ariat
Riding boots? Konigs
Riding hat? GPA

Just because these brands seem to suit me/my horse and I've had a good experience with them. Feed wise, I buy Dengie chaff because I've always used it, and supplements I tend to go with whatever is cost effective and good quality ingredients. Tack: must be from a good English or European manufacturer, so saddle is Ideal, bridle Kate Negus and Stubben. I bought a few cheaper bridles off ebay in my time and they are languishing in a box getting mouldy and I've learned my lesson!

Rug-wise I like Weatherbeeeta purely because I know they fit his broad chest, also discovered that the derby house rugs fit him quite well as well.

Saddles - I love my Ideal and the two saddles I've owned (since buying the pony 8 months ago!!) have both been Ideals.

Everything else tends to be cheapest or wheatever's on offer - try to get stuff in the sale when possible, I recently bought Dublin and Caldene jods in the sale, a very fancy tweed jacket they was mega-reduced and my Ariat jod boots were on sale. My Ariat Grasmere's were won in a competition and I love them, If I had the money I think I'd be very loyal to Ariat and Horseware clothing!

I do like Dengie chaffs and Spillers feeds as well - can be quite particular about feed.

Yes, rug wise I love Fal and Weatherbeeta, they're good quality and fit al three of mine well.
Other than that I do like English leather tack.
My yard boots are Ariats as they are hardwearing and never rub.

TBH, when i find a brand me/horse/etc like then i stick with it... bit of a die hard fan of:
Turnout rug? Rambo every time, fit well, don't slip, don't rub, don't sweat in them
Stable rug? Amigo/Rambo (esp my rambo jumbo's)
Horse boots? Woof for every day, kentaur leather ones for OH's best jumping boots/ John Whittaker training bandages for dressage horsey
Numnah/saddle pad? Nuumed only (having bought cheap s***t that slips/rubs etc won't have anything else)
Jodhpurs/breeches? Caldene Belgrade - fit well
Yard jacket?..not fussed
Yard boots?.. Dubarrys
Riding boots?.. DeNiro's
Riding hat?.. not fussed
Gloves: Roekl's (fab/lightweight/fit well

feed... bit of a fan of Spillers (just about to try their new balancer and move away from blue chip..)

I tend to only buy horseware rugs.
Although I am sure wetherbeeta are really good now, and much cheaper. Perhaps next time I need a new something or other I might look at weatherbeeta.

My riding boots are always Ariat.
My horses Numnahs are always Griffin Nuumed's.

As for most other things, well I have a look at all the brands and buy from whoever is selling what I'm looking for at the best price.
