The picture we took after this one, she for some reason decided to take on the pole feeding in to the jump, so twice the height! She had badly broken knees when we bought her, so they didn't bend further than in the picture, so to jump higher she had to throw her body twice as high in the air. Mostly she would jump like a steeple chaser, with her forelegs stretched out in front from a distance.

She was a real old fashioned section B, born on the hills we think. Must have had some life, she knew her way to the head of a showing line-up and knew the whole drill in the ring so must have had a good career there, but I also tracked down photos of her as a hat rack in a beer garden full of broken glass with no food or water.

She was very tolerant of the man circling wolf really. I got them both the same year when I was 13 and they both died 16 years later, within months of each other. Losing your two best childhood friends at the same time is tough. Thank goodness for the crazy black pony making me smile.

I can imagine, those must've been a horrible few months :(

It's amazing how tolerant they can be of circling wolves, isn't it - she looks completely non-plussed by the presence of the wolf-dog. My Wolf once bit Fergs on the nose while I was schooling (literally jumped up and nipped him  ). You have never seen a pony look so aggrieved in his life - I swear he turned to look at me and his eyes said "I can't even retaliate because I'm working and you wouldn't let me!". I bet your lovely collie had more manners than mine :D
