Just been looking on Project Horses...

When PH first got up and running there were a lot of 'free to good home' problem horses whereas now it seems some people just use it for free advertising.

[/ QUOTE ]
I agree BH.
To be honest, I could quite easily pick up a horse with half the problems, at half the price.

[/ QUOTE ]

It's not free!

[/ QUOTE ]
Ahh, I think it used to be free (not sure though). It's not much to advertise on it compared to Horsemart etc etc though.

No surprise to me. Welsh D's, though beautiful to look at, are the spawn of Satan...

And you didn't think to impart this wisdom to me before I bought one because....?

Sec D's unfortunatly are pretty so you are always going to get people buying them because of how they look and not because they are suitable.

BTW Horsemart is £12 if you untick the box to have a colured box round your ad

Tbh, my friend owns a welsh d stallion, and he is impeccably behaved - a real softie, but I've never had any luck with the two I've owned in the past.
One was a bolshy swine who would trample all over me without batting an eyelid, and the other one was so difficult to catch, that I only ever saw him at a distance. I got close up to him twice - once when I bought him, and once when I sold him

I think there are some good buys on Project Horses, and some aren't that much of a project, they just need bringing on and their owners either can't, or don't have the time. I keep looking at the 15hh Cob/Haflinger gelding, he's up for just under £3k, but there's nothing really wrong with him... I'd better stop looking!!

My D is a nightmare but still love him to pieces and would have another! I think its just because big Welshies are strong horses with massive personalities. A lot of people find their personalities too much!

God, the first horse "Mason" in the 15.1hh - 16hh section - She clearly doesnt even have enough time to GROOM the horse! What a state!

A lot of problem horses seem to go for way too much money!

I once went to look at a horse someone called me about reschooling and they pointed to a black dot on the horizon and informed me that the first thing they needed help with was catching it.

I just had a quick look, I am actually shocked at the amount people are asking for clearly very "difficult" horses.

[/ QUOTE ]

Especially as a friend of ours got an ex-racehorse for the price of its vaccinations. They are out there for meat money!

I found Grace on Project Horses... what I like about the site is that people can be honest with the problems their horses have. Charles is a lovely looking horse, a real eye catcher lzt

I think it's time you started doing stressage

Agree - there is plenty of space to write a detailed description of any problems. There is probably a far better chance of a horse finding a long term home via a really honestly worded ad. Charles is gorgeous, his photo really stands out.
