......because a stupid a***hole nearly ran headlong into me and ponio by doing over 60 round a blind bend onto a single track country lane the other day. As he slammed his breaks on with me screaming STOP the car slid sideways and forwards, kicked gravel up and eventually stopped about a meter in front of us.
The Menace was the most amazing little horse, he didnt move a muscle when he could quite easily and expectidly have gone nuts.

Unfortunately he flew off at about 80 so I didnt get the reg no, but villagers know who it is, so while the pointless waste of air is sleeping his hangover off tomorrow I will be at his house getting the reg number.

Similar thing happened to me a few weeks back. The Police went round to his house and put the fear of god into him, in front of his very middle-class parents (the shame of it - the neighbours knowing you've had the rozzers round).

Glad to hear it was not more serious. You must be very shaken still though.

Wow how scary.Glad you and ponio are ok. Let the police get the scum and sort him out.
Your pony must be bomb proof. My Flash would of zoomed off.

I've had to contact the police a couple of times about idiot drivers. Glad you're both ok and hope he gets what he deserves xx

Some one did this on our lane the other day lucky I was only in my car doing 20 in the other direction and knew to keep over to the left - he on the other hand ended up facing the wrong direction ... couldn't quite believe it ! took me all my power not to get out and throttle him but hopefully the shock has taught him a lesson

Find out where he lives and go around late at night and empty a sackful of horse poo on his front step.

Although this is probably meant tongue and cheek but in case it isn't that's not a very good idea. Will make the bloke respect horse riders less and will probably drive worse at them.

God so glad you both are okay. Good on you for going to the police and doing something about it!

though i would be so tempted to let down the little gobshites tyres.

We did this, many years ago. We had an incident with 2 completely bombproof, ride & drive mares on a hack, where a speeding driver threw gravel up at us twice on a road that only led to some houses and a bridleway. We were unable to get his reg whilst settling the horses, so carried on past the houses, saw where he had parked his car and made a note of the number then. We called the police when we got home and eventually they charged him with careless driving. We didn't actually tell them that we had taken his number while the car was parked.
Glad you're both ok. I do think that every-one involved in these incidents should report them. It's the only way to make the police/legal system take notice.

can you get your hands on some tripe, leave outside for the day so it starts to turn then throw it over his windscreen, maybe the sight will make him think what an animal/person on his windscreen might actually look like.

My boy is only 7 (he'll always be a baby to me) and has never experienced anything like this, so when I say he was a star I mean it. 2 minutes before he was titting about at the birds in the hedge, when it mattered he saved both our arses. As I cried with shock afterward, he jumped at the pigeons...ohh to be a horse:o

Poo is a good idea - my hubby would be far scarier though! Don't worry - all I want is the reg no, up to the police then.
Thanks for all your well wishes, we're both fine, just shook up - well I am, ponio is fine:D
