Feel free to ignore me, Being an over panicy mum!! Its a minor bleed only in his one nostril not down face chest or legs.
I'm guessing he has banged his head or stabbed himself on the hedge. He is fine in himself and eating.

YO Will check him later although once wiped there was no evidence of any more. He will do anything to get out of work!!
Will ride in morning and see how he is but presuming its a one off!

My friend's mare had a couple of tiny nosebleeds recently, no other symptoms but
had a tooth infection. Hopefully your case is just a minor bump to the nose but thought i'd share as it's something to bare in mind :)

OP I wouldn't worry too much if I were you. My really oldie gets little nosebleeds (a trickle from one nostril) when he gets really, really stressed about anything. Last time it happened was when the air ambulance landed in a field about 400 yards from him. I just mop him up and we get on with life . . .

btw - I have had him checked over by a vet when he was younger, nothing physically wrong at all and it's never loads of blood, like I say just a trickle.

Our connie had one the other week, turned out he'd been snacking on rose hips from the hedge and scratched himself on a thorn.Hope your boy has done something similar and it is nothing to worry about.

Mine had a nosebleed a wee while ago, cue mass hysteria from me, rang vet, turns out that the tantrum he had just thrown because the bottom end of the indoor school was flooded had caused him to burst a blood vessel, eejit :p

She said if it happens regularly they will take a look, but it hasn't happened again since, and it was only a trickle of blood, he wiped it away himself while I was busy pacing up and down, flapping about the whole situation and just generally being useless!
