Just for fun - what's your dream breed?

I've been really lucky to have experienced a lot of different breeds and I love a lot of breeds, I appreciate the brain and spark of a sharp cob, the elastic suppleness and engine of Warmbloods. I'm not a fan of appaloosas I just don't vibe with them, so much so it's often the case that I find out a horse I just can't gel with turns out to be an Appaloosa part bred.
And while there are many breeds of be happy to welcome into a stable I've never quite grown out of my little pony mad girlhood love of Arabs and Andalusians. Even in my teens and twenties when everyone was falling for friesians and later the spider legged warm bloods Iberians and Arabs were like a dirty little secret 🤣
I certainly can't afford two but I do occasionally find myself window shopping PRE fusions and hispano Arabs 🙈🫣
So what's your dream breed?
 
Cleveland Bay and Suffolk Punch, not that I'd really want to own either anymore, due to their size. I would quite like to own a standard shetland though, or a proper Dartmoor, broken to harness.
 
Haflingers for me. I’ve been so lucky to own 2 lovely ones and they’re so much fun. Athletic but with the pony sense of humour. And I love a chestnut.
I’ve always wanted a grey highland too though.
 
Arabs. My mums horse was an Arab. She had him from a yearling until he was pts in his mid thirties, so I grew up with him and he was just the best horse. I go all moon eyed when I see an Arab.

I also have a soft spot for Fell ponies. I’ve only ridden one once, but she was so much fun she definitely made an impression.

I've known a few haflingers, good looks and fun ponies but very much their own person 😂
I had a friend with a dun Highland as a pre teen - I was lucky enough to ride him a bit, and 2 friends with exmoors, had no idea how privileged I was back to meet different breeds especially when pretty much 50% of ponies were Welsh
 
I’ve only had five horses and four those have been thoroughbreds or one was 7/8 thoroughbred so I think that’s a clue. The other was a Palomino so I can appreciate others though 😁.
 
I learnt to ride on Arabs and have always wanted one of my own but instead have had a New Forest, a Welsh B, an ISH and a Dartmoor Hill Pony and my share is a Cob X Trotter. I think the Arab dream will probably remain a dream, but a jolly nice one :)
 
Awh I’ve got an Appy part bred and he’s my world!
If space and money wasn’t an issue then I would really love to have a draft (shire/clyde or Suffolk) one day.

Oh jheeze, and sell my left kidney, car and house to buy him! Perhaps I'll just stick to the daydream as I'm not sure I'd be able to ride one side of him either!

Someone I know through the yard had a text book champagne colour Akhal Teke mare, when she moved to France she looked to full loan her out and I thought she'd have her arm snapped off as I think lots of people have them as a dream horse, but she's had real problems, I think they can be very acquired taste in terms of temperament.
 
My dream breed isn't really a breed, its a type. I love SJ bred WBs. ideally with a bit of SF. Ironic really as I've barely left the ground in 20 years and absolutely do not need that type of horse.
 
I'd love to have a North Swedish horse. Pretty light drafts, usually bay. Mostly for working in the woods and on the fields, drive around but not much riding, they're too wide for me.

So far I only have a mini version, who really does look like a miniature Nordsvensk. He's a Gotlandsruss, also a Swedish breed.

Very interesting but I might need photos to know what they are!
 
Arabs and partbred Arabs are my absolute favourite. I have had two purebred, five partbreds. They don't do every job though, so I love them for what they are and would still want another dressage horse.

I love baroque type horses and have ridden a lot of Iberians, mainly PRE but also Lusitanos, but I'm not sure if I'd have another. I'd be tempted to go Frederiksborger or Gelderlander for my next dressage horse.

I spent years dreaming of a dun highland x tb. Ideally mouse dun/grulla, but I’ve made do with a bay dun instead!

I’d also love a GRP /weser ems pony. Preferably a stallion. In a funky colour.
