just found something that made me feel a bit sad

my OH is going through all the box files in the 'office' and he found the paperwork from when jerry was imported.

I've looked through it and found out that he entered the UAE in 1998, when he was 7 years old.

it makes me so sad to think that he had 7 long years of mistreatment before he was sold on to someone who only had him for 3 months
before we got him.

sorry for the rambling.. I just wish we'd gotten him when he younger..

Aww least he has an amazing life now which is more than can be said for some poor animals. Enjoy your time together and make the most of everyday x

I don't know the history of this but horses do not have imaginations and only have the ability to think in the present. I highly doubt he remembers his past treatment, only how lovely his life is now. Don't dwell on when you got him, just be glad you did.

I think he does remember. There are times when I go to, for example, take his head collar off and he panics because I've moved too fast or because he wasn't expecting it.

He still can't have more than two people in his stable because he can't see where everyone is and what they're doing.
He's much better now - my dad did lots of groundwork with him and went back to the beginning. He's such a sweetheart and it's such a shame that the 'best years' of his life were spent with someone who wasn't fussed about hurting him.

ugh.. I just don't understand how someone can hurt a defenceless animal.

If I could, I'd take them all home with me..
