Just got back from a rushed trip to the vets with Popple

[Puppy]

The little ninny has managed to get herself stung on the eye by a wasp

= emergency vet appointment (and trying to get there in lunch time traffic whilst in panicking mummy mode...

)

Anyway, my vet diagnosed her as "very silly"

And said she is very lucky that there is no damage to the cornea. She's had an anti-inflamatory jab and has some eye drops for the next 5 days. She's currently sporting a very funky one eyed, gunky green face look

I'm glad to say it hasn't dulled her spirits or put her off her food - she just had her favourite dog biscuit omelette for lunch

Spoilt?! Surely not!

Off topic, we have a little popple girl in our rescue

Thanks guys, I'm glad to say it didn't/doesn't seem to hurt so much as irritate her, and it's gone down quite a lot now.

Very luckily my neighbour saw her out in the garden when it happened and let me know straight away so we'd got time on our side.

Knowing little ninny, I am slightly sceptical as to my vets opinion that "she won't do that again...."

What a muppet!

My Old Lab was severely allergic to Bee/Wasp Stings, his head used to swell up, and he couldn't breath. The Vet was adamant he would steer clear of all buzzing insects after the first time..... The daft bloody animal would run around trying to catch them, and was stung several times

OH NO!

My spaniel ran through a wasps nest once, much to the wasp's disgust as you can imagine

!! Poor little doggie was stung everywhere, including her eyes, belly, mouth, body ... everywhere!!

Big hugs for her!! Our old Irish Setter got stung on the muzzle once (stuck it in a wasp nest!

) it was swollen for about 24 hours - looked v funny!

- but she never did it again....

She is doing ok now. It keeps swelling up and down; sometimes looks almost normal, sometimes almost shut, but aside from a little dopey from the latest lot of anti-inflamatory drops, she seems ok and not too troubled.

She got half a sausage with her supper for being such a brave girl!

A touch of discharge, and her a eye a tiny bit more closed than usual, but if you didn't know/weren't looking you would probably never guess
