Well what a busy 2 days its been. Took Willow to The Great Yorkshire Show on Tuesday morning. Got up at 3.30am and left at 6am to get there to miss the traffic. Anyway the stewards had us driving around the show ground for 1hr

before one of them decided they knew where we were to be parked, then got to my stable to find that some kind person had taken my stable

!

Well we got 6th in the Irish Draught In hand class so was very pleased with her to say she was the littleist of the class (as usual!). Then took her in the In hand Hunter Yearling filly this morning and got a 7th - again the smallest.

Got a few nice photos of us competing but awaiting the photography site to be updated before I can share them with you all.

So very proud of my girl to say there were 2 chestnut fillys that insisted on upsetting my poor little girl by double barrelling at her everytime they came near me!

Also just got emailed some piccies of the Silversand Clinic I went on so pop over to the PG shortly and ill get them posted up.

cheers. Yes dont really like to see more than 1 3.30 in a day but it was an exception. Onyl had about 4 hours sleep as I was getting all my stuff packed!

Dont think ive got anymore coming up and if I have I think ill be taking the big bird.
Good luck for Saturday though. Are you handling Missy?

eek at 3.30am start!

WELL DONE!!

Aww so what if she was the smallest, it just shows that good things can come in small packages... well as small as ID's get LOL!

yes I hate early starts. I can cope with 430 but not much before that (get grumpy!)
I think she looks great till she gets along side the other yearlings and they end up looking like 2yo's but then again I suppose most of these are produced for the shows so maybe thats the difference?

Im no expert on showing by any means, but from what I see with my inexperienced eye, is that some people seem to think size makes up for lack of quality, whether that be height or weight.

I wouldnt worry at all about her being the smallest, she may even well catch up soon!

I know what you mean. Maybe some showing people on here could advise? They look as though they have been fed up to make the size but it makes me wonder how long their joints will last.
Shes perfect to me so I dont care how big/small she is at the moment. Im sure shell make her destined height when shes ready!

Absolutely!

Hopefully some showing peeps will be along.

I suppose the thing is with feeding them up, that layer of fat can hide conformation faults, and give the impression that the horse is more substantial.

Like you said, its their joints though.
