So decided to take Monty (4yr old this year) out for a short hack again, I have only been riding him again for a couple of weeks and had our first trot in the school last wednesday.
So I get a bit down the road (have a field which people canter in on my right) I see a friend in the distance entering the field and think she will see me and wont canter but oh no she starts cantering, still think she will see me and stop (I had a yellow hi viz tabbard on and Bright pink hat silk). She suddenly realised it was me tried to slow down, Monty stopped to look at them I thought he was being good but then he suddenly spun and cantered off down the road, I quickly look round to shout to ask frend to stop to see she was on the floor.
I did manage to get Monty back before we got to the oncoming car which I had to ask to stop, he was then jogging and snorting but did settle down before we got to the yard gate.
So Monty has had his first trot and canter under saddle in one week. Wasn't how I planned it
but he was good considering. Friend did apologise when we both got back to the yard.
Having horses is never uneventful
Sorry turned out a bit long
