I posted about this last time and it wasn't any better doing it again!

Changing the gullet on my Wintec Isabel that is

I thought it was supposed to be easy.
I had a hell of a job changing from a medium to a medium wide over the summer, but Axey has lost weight so I have changed it back to a medium again.
It took me ages, I was shouting and swearing and in the end I was hitting my saddle with a hammer trying to get the blasted gullet to go in.
I managed it in the end but the 2 staples holding the thread on to the gullet screw have come off

Think you have a dodgy saddle!! I can switch the gullet in my Isabel in a couple of minutes. Did you buy it new?

I was wondering that, I bought it 2nd hand about 4 years ago and it had hardly been used.
I had it checked over by my saddler when I first bought it, but it did fall off Axey on to the floor once at the end of the summer, hope it isn't damaged.
Will get my saddler back to have a look.

Mine is easy to change aswell hon. Sounds like yours needs checking over.

I could screw in one side really easily but then the other side was a good 1cm away from the screw holes.
Didn't matter which side you did up first either.

i wouldnt have described mine as 'easy' to change but it doesnt sound as hard as yours? there is a 'nack' to it though (took me 3 changes to find it!!)

i'd get it checked out

I need the saddler out anyway so will ask him to give it a good looking over.
