We had relentless rain yesterday & last night. Went to do the ponies in the rented field this morning and they were up to their bellies in water, the drainage burn behind their field had overflowed during the night. Had to get the lorry and bring them home, as although the front of the field was okay there is too much grass (they were in paddocks) Luckily the mare & foal weren't there as the water at its height must have been very deep.
Luckily all okay :)

Glad all were ok, who would of thought a week ago we was in high 20's & beaming sunshine & now we are all having to paddle to our horses.

Poor ponies and thank god they are all ok.

Blooming weather - it is the one thing that somtimes makes me want to give up horses!!

Every comp I have entered this year has been cancelled due to weather, and am booked into a 3 day camp starting tomorrow, which now is in jeopardy. Even if it does go ahead I doubt we will be able to go xc, which was the main reason I wanted to go.

I have spent many days harrowing and rolling the fields, which a week ago looked fab, but will now have to re do them when it dries up.

Am also fed up of rugs!! Finally put away their winter weight rugs last week, to only have to get them out again last Sun - we are in June for heavens sake......!

The only positive is at least the grass is growing like mad and the hosepipe ban is likely to be lifted. I was also thinking at least there will be plenty of hay this yr, until a livery pointed out that is assuming it stays dry enough to get the hay off the fields.
