Just started similar thread, didn't realise there already was one. Yes i heard via FB. Great loss to the equine world. I hope her legacy lives on. Great competition venue she created and she helped futher so many peoples education in the world of dressage. Great loss. Rest in peace.
OMG how sad. Not that long since I saw her competing. I didn't know her personally but she always seemed very pleasant and appeared to have a loving, close and strong relationship with her daughter.
Laura suffered from breast cancer for the last few years. She developed bone cancer last year. Never being one to say never she contiued to ride when she felt well enough. However just over a month gao she fell from a horse and broke her hip. She remained in Castlhill hospital until her death yesterday. She was a highly thought of individual and extremely respected. I saw her a few weeks ago and had a lovely hug and chat. Bless her...so very sad. Simon and Lottie have my heart felt condolances.
RIP Laura and condolences to all her family and friends. It is a great loss to the dressage community, especially for our little corner of East Yorkshire.
So very, very sad. Such a cruel disease and my heart goes out to her husband and daughter.
They must be so very proud of Laura and of everything that she achieved throughout her life. As far as her illness went, she was obviously a real fighter and she has my sincere admiration.
She was a tremendously talented rider and trainer and her passing is a real loss to dressage and the horse world as a whole.
