Are you drawn to certain things when buying a horse
colour - type - markings etc??

If you are what are yours look for's???

Mine are DUN - palomino - Grey.
near hind white
always a mare (unless I bred my boy)
pink snip on the nose for kissing (though only my ID's have had that)
( no warmbloods etc )

Though 4 in my life did not meet the full criteria but were but these girls met full criteria.

Yes I am sad I know

I had a palomino, chestnut, liver chestnut, grey and bay. I love a dark bay thoroughbred. Other than the palomino all of them thoroughbred or 7/8ths TB. A good horse is never a bad colour and a bit of white lets the devil out.

I have no sensible criteria at all. I've only chosen three in my lifetime. The first because I felt sorry for him, the second because I liked the look of him across a field and the third because he was wicked and cute.
I only have one of these left now, and he is old (still wicked & cute though), the others stayed here until the end of their days and we had a lot of fun together. I've been very lucky.

I have bought 3 horses in my life and taken on 1 - three were pity buys, and one I chose, Dex. That being said they have all been large geldings with big ears and a kind eye.

Black or ginger,

Fabulous canter

Either 4 whites or no whites

Solid conformation (big arse, big shoulders)

Love a star but definitely not a deal breaker

(I currently own 3 bays though so colour isnt that important - i will never buy another grey though - ive never had a good experience with a grey)

Welsh or Welsh X- would consider other breeds, but they need a certain personality- sharp, opinionated, quick but also sensible with it.
Not grey, not a thoroughbred (nothing against them, but I've never met one I could read). That said, I think most of the people I know who have greys set out to buy any other colour but grey and are perfectly happy with their horses!

I'm drawn to bays and blacks with white blazes or white markings of some sort and white legs, preferably WB's and big horses, I.e 17hh middleweight types. No greys or light colours.
