That's horrible! Looks like blood to me too although I couldn't be sure. Apart from being stupidly tight it's fitted too low as well, probably restricting the horses breathing. It's disgusting.

Poor horse, that's really awful. You have to think what kind of crazy thoughts goes through people's brains to think of using/fitting bits like that

to me that looks like a lot of blood! the thing is with a lot of these people is that non horsey people lunge,muck out tack up ect and then professinoal riders just ride i have no problem with this but a lot of people have far more money than sense! and its not fair, because the horses are the ones that suffer for it! like in this pic :'(
