I want to incorporate some weekly pole work into G's schooling to try and keep it interesting.

He's 15hh, what's the correct distance of/between the poles?

about 4'6" for him but so you don't need to get the tape measure out.
Step one foot heel to toe, for five steps and that is about right.

As a rough guide, 90cm apart for walk poles, trot poles 1.25m and canter poles 3m apart, but obviously it will vary slightly depending your horses stride.
