Hello everyone

I've been following the forum for a while now and decided it was about time I joined :) I hope everyone is doing okay in these challenging times. My boy passed away 18 months ago and this forum was a great source of comfort to me, which I'm really grateful for. In my time being horseless it's been nice to emerge myself in all things horsey and read all your posts ... remembering the joy of gallops on the beach and that feeling of being with your best friend. I'm starting to think I may be ready for another horse soon, so no doubt I will be posting soon. Thanks for reading and I hope everyone has a nice weekend :)

Welcome to the forum. So sorry to hear about your horse, it's hard isn't it ? Moving forward and starting anew again is a big step, but ultimately, horses seem to always draw us back in.

Hi and thank you for the welcome :) Thank you for your kind thoughts ... yes they leave a big gap in your life and your heart when they go don't they. I had him for 12 years and miss him loads but I was really lucky to have all that time with him and be left with lots of lovely memories and photographs. I couldn't really imagine having another horse for the first year really, but you're right ... they draw you back in don't they :) It took a while to go from struggling to know I wouldn't be able to replace him and his little ways with feeling sure that there may be another horse to share my heart and my time with. Thanks for replying and I hope you enjoy the sun this weekend :)

Hey muckymummy! Thanks for your post ... we'll have to keep each other updated on our attempts to start afresh. I hope you are keeping well too :) Have you started searching yet? Once horses are in your heart that's it isn't it! There's nothing like that horse smell and kissing that velvety nose, even if it wipes itself on your jumper and gets you all slobbery lol.
