Not sure if I'm allowed to post this, but have seen loads of posts on here about horses on the loose after their rider falls off on a hack or something. I've just bought one, won't be leaving the yard without it now, I'm always paranoid about decking it and my horse galloping off into the distance!

Good idea. I have ID tags on all my horses' headcollars, bridles and saddles with phone numbers on (home and mobile). I got a bulk lot and the dogs have them on their collars too.

I just use key tags with my number on, one for both saddle and bridle, but yes a good idea

Where did you get them in bulk? Are they clip on that you can fasten to anything?

I also think it's a good idea. And would be even better if it contained a way to let whoever found the horse know your hacking route - just in case you are somewhere along it, hurt. I can't immediately think of how to do this without writing a note to put in it each time... Maybe you could print out maps of your most common hacks and put the relevant one in each time?

That's a good point. I have a few horses I take out, so I think I'll make up cards for each and try and remember to put the right card in the holder before we set out

Where did you get them in bulk? Are they clip on that you can fasten to anything?

I just got them on ebay. They are small keyring style so easily attachable to d-rings, bridle buckles etc. I have them on my headcollars for when I am competing and also because I box to hack so hopefully all bases are covered.

I won one in the rc handy pony at Christmas. I should really dig it out and attach it to the saddle when I hack.
