Just to make you all aware. (possible virus/malware)

hopefully it will be sorted and all will be safe again. im going to do a quick scan before shutting down to make sure no nastys have got in :-)
 
i had lots of warnings and then was told i had four infected files and to move them into a safe 'vault' which i did. Its doing a whole comp scan now. Takes forever though :-/
 
HHO was done for a couple of hours the other morning because of something to do with the server i think.
 
funny you should post this thread as i have just been told by my computer thsn it has blocked a virus attack. thanks for the heads up :)
 
I had this happen to me a few weeks ago, on another forum that I use. It turned out that it was something known as a 'false positive'. A program that is use on a site, or several in my case, usually for advertising, and the anti virus software sees it as a threat, so issues warnings. Until the anti virus software is updated, it will continue to block files from the site, and throw up warnings. I contacted my anti virus provider, as I was having major issues trying to use my computer (it was p***ing me off with the constant pop ups) and they got straight back to me to confirm that it was indeed not a threat, and that their system was in the process of being updated.
I haven't had any alerts this evening, nor anything strange going on with my pc, so I can only think that my anti virus program doesn't see any threat with whatever the others are blocking. I use Bullguard, and it's pretty good, but not free!!
