I turned mine back out 24/7 for Spring yesterday!

I usually wait until the end of hunting season, but as the poor horses have been stabled so much more over the recent weeks due to the weather, thought they would appreciate an early return to the field.

We are very lucky to have a 3 acre hill field, which despite the horrendous weather, still has a good covering of grass and the only mud is in the gateway - I put out haylage but none of them even touched it.

No doubt winter will have another 'sting in its tail' and they may well have to come back in for a short period, but as we are forecasted for around 10 days of dry weather, though I would take advantage of it.

Happy days!

Personally I'm glad that the ground is cold and frozen because that means no mud! But it does sound lovely with spring.

But maybe you're the only one on HHO with such a hill?

I hope your spring is there to stay and that you don't see this...

Hope your horses enjoy themselves.

Think I will have to leave this thread and go looking for more smilies, I really haven't found that many with happy horses.

I never lock my horses up any way so sorry :D but I'm not jealous, however, if you said you had a 100% dry 10 acre paddock with lush green grass I might feel a little bit green

I can never quite figure out why people rave about lush grass so much  If I had lush grass my horses wouldn't get anywhere near it until it was in a bale! ;):D

I live on land that is flatter than a flat thing so I am slightly envious of anyone with sloping ground, however, mid winter here and we have no mud, we have no grass either, but what the heck :D

Lol enfys... I am totally in agreement. If I allowed mine onto a field of lush green grass for any length of time the rspca would be knocking. My girls get fat on air... though id love a hill field to get their feathers out of the bog.
