Well, today was the day of Megs annual booster vac. Its always a day where I experience slight nerves as she is such a vet hater and all those who come close might just ''Get It''. She has ways of kicking out with all four feet and squashing you/vet or whoever be within squashing range. I have had her now 10 years and in all that time she has never had her heart listened to or her eyes checked for example!! We hope that as she is now 14, she should have grown up.
Well today, although not 100% happy with the vet, we both survived un-kicked and un-squashed. So, took the plunge and vet listened to her heart for the VERY FIRST TIME. Luckily she is 100%, likewise with gums/teeth and eyes.
I always claim she must be healthy as she is so fiesty. BUT maybe I was singing her praises too much as just typically Meg has thrown (her first) very new, and slightly sore splint, on the outside of her O/F. She trotted up sound and almost took off with me, but perhaps it just shows that she is still fiesty and had it not been for the splint, she WOULD have tried harder to kick and squash the vet!!??!!
The vet told us that although splints form due to a knock and wear and tear the most likely cause is unbalance in the feet. She appears to have lovely (although small) feet, so Iam hoping its not too 'deeply seated' and therefore almost impossible to cure? She has such low milage for a 14 year old, just really hoping its just a knock.
And things were all going so well, just typically had to happen now, I was looking forward to this weekend as its my birthday tomorrow, but now find myself worrying about the Megs!!
