I hacked out today for the 1st time in 2 weeks

Oh, it was brilliant just to get out the gate, even if we did have to skirt round icy patches in the shady areas. Mare was happy to be out & had a right ping in her step (even tho she is out all day & only in during dark). Even worked a bit of a sweat up (both of us that is ) and only walked & trotted, tho jigged a lot of the way back on the 45 min jaunt off roading.

Oh, and got signed off from hosp this afternoon

Had an early dinner & a glass of vino & now actually relaxing - but the BEST thing of the day was getting all field tanks filled up again using the hoses

Thats all, just am happy person for 1sst time in a fortnight

very jealous....we missed the snow (only had about 4 inches at worst)....but we have been hit heavily by ice and our yard is up a steep track that is still an inch or two deep in ice....YO has been down with a tactor and bucket on the front today to try and break it up as we havent left the yard for 16 days.....CABIN FEVER!!!!! im almost turning into a dressage rider with all this schooling.....almost ;-)

Nice to hear that you were able to hack out! Think it is sorely missed by many over the winter months Though it definitely makes you enjoy those rare days a little bit more.

And we know the horses enjoy it too!

I dont have a school, and was lucky that mare is close to the yard - and its only 20 foot to get out onto a track
1st day its been 'safe' to do so tho.
Am going to make the most of it tomorrow too, it was a balmy 4 degrees at 8.30 this morning
