Just worked out how much it costs to feed my horse!!!

Thats only one of them, my jumper. I'm not working out what my brood mare costs as she's 17.2 and eats 'like a horse'.

i spend about £60 on hard feed a month for a 17hh, 11.1hh & a sheep

do you use manage my horse website? your horse gets a feed page and if you put in what your horse eats, how much he eats a day it tells you what he cost you a day, week month and year.(hmm) very useful for my biso, tells you how many bags to buy too when you need more. I've added my shavings and supps to this sections and get a proper idea how to bugdet now even if it a bit of a shocker.
 
He has 3 feeds a day of
Alfa oil = 1 scoop,
Topline cubes = 1/2 scoop
1 cup of outshine.

He is in hard work and can loose weight. He has ad lib hay (very good quality my dad makes it).

He's been on holiday for the last month but is going back to his rider on wednesday, so i've just been working out how many bags of each to get to last him a month.

Just a piece of paper and a pen for me I really don't want to know how much they all cost me!!!!!

ps that seemss a lot for one horse it has to be said. have you checked with feed company if youre feeding right amount could save yourself a fortune. one horse came to me and owner said what it was eating so i rang up and got the proper advice and cut his feed bill in half. they were stuffing full and had way too much and over fortiefied (theysiad) with vits and mins which is a bad as not enough . i tell everyone to ring up now and check it only takes a sec.
 
defo go on manage my horse then it works it all out for ya and it has a shopping list page i use a lot, put in any date in futue and it tells you how many bags of what you use you need to buy. don't tell you what to feed it works it out on what you've told it you eat. hightly recommend the site and it's all free, result!
 
ah there's the answer then. that stuff must be expensive or you need a lot of it. glad i'm not on that one now lol.

what does your horse do? eventing?
 
Mine gets a cup of outshine added to her feed too. I don't find it costs much when its just a cup. There is still some left in the last £30 bag and it was bought in early January! Must say I haven't worked out my feed bill, but since I haven't been charged since before Christmas and the bill is waiting for me. It looks like I'll be working it out soon!
