Jute Rugs... who still uses them?

As title really. Who still uses jute rugs? I remember we used them all the time, back in the day, they made great under rugs for turnout. I was thinking of getting one for Toby, to put under his turnout when it starts getting really cold, and wondered how many people still use them?

Got 2, had many more. I don't use them, as neither mine are stabled. Brilliant rugs in the day.

Not any more! I think you can get them still, with the belly straps, rather than having to use a roller.

Horrible things, hated them back in the days when they were all we had! Todays modern rugs are so much better, fit better and lighter to handle!

Would much prefer a stable rug that I can chuck in the washing machine.

No. Although they have some benefits, I much prefer modern rugs. However, if it was cooler to wear in summer than a cotton sheet for my sunburn-prone horse, I might be tempted.

I wanted a Jute rug for fatboy, but when I looked they were hideously expensive for what they were and I knew it wouldn't last as long as the ones I used to use.
