Looking to buy a JVC hay Bell for winter feeding for 3 horses who live out.

Currently use hay slow feeder boxes which are great for stopping haylage being wasted but need to be filled twice a day.

Concerns with hay Bell are weight and ease of putting over round haylage in muddy winter field that is on a hill.

We are very high up in rural Wales could it blow away in high winds.

Wastage as I have a haffy who likes to create a mess and the holes look big.

Can horses get body parts stuck.

Any input appreciated.

Hi, just wondering if you went ahead with Haybell, and if so how you're getting on with it ?

Hi, no I didn't buy one, I contacted the company and they never responded and I decided that it would be too easy for the haffy to pull all the hay out. I am going with getting a couple more slow hay feeders from parallex so I only fill up once a day. I have had 3 of these for years and although have to fill daily they hve been completely safe for my horses and waste is minimal. So hoping the extra boxes will enable one fill a day instead of 2.
