The patient is actually a dog but thought I'd ask in here for a general view. . .

Has anyone used a K-Laser/Class IV laser to rehab a horse (or themselves or a dog) with a ligament injury?

I am not sure what type of laser my equine physio uses but when I twisted my ankle badly she checked it and said that laser therapy would help improve the ligaments healing once initial swelling and inflammation had reduced.
I did the usual, rest, as far as you can when you have horses, put ice on it, then she did several days of laser treatment, luckily she had her pony on box rest with me at the time so we sat in the sun, me enjoying the treatment, while pony was allowed a pick of grass, having this every day really made a difference, it healed very well with no long term twinges, the laser felt soothing and slightly warm, even if it did no good it felt lovely:)

One of my horses is due to start having treatment for fibrosis, when allowed by the vet, she is going to show me what to do so I can treat him as often as possible. I have used it previously but cannot remember which horse it was but I am sure it helped at the time.

I can find out what her machine is if it is relevant, just let me know.

I would appreciate it if you could.

I have used lasers in the past on horses (and, um, on horse people :D ) but they were an earlier technology, I'm told by my educated source. They were big grey boxes with a wand attached . . I have no idea what K-Laser machines look like!

Class IV lasers are really strong lasers? I think they have only just come over into this country from the US for therapeutic use

usually a class 2 or 3 would be used for therapeutic use
