I have a coming 5 year old 3/4 connie/1/4 tb cross and am looking for a saddle (or saddles) that will work for him for awhile before he's ready for his big boy saddles. I have an Albion dressage saddle right now that has a nice open head and wide channel, but the angles are just not right on it. Despite having the right width, I have a thorowgood compact GP that just doesn't seem as balanced on him as I would like. I was told that a saddle with more of a hoop type tree would be best. So, I'm really curious about the Cavaletti saddles. I had a Loxley custom saddle for another horse that I did really like. What are people's experiences with them? How would you compare them with the Kent & Masters (leather quality, balance, etc.?). Has anyone had specific experience with them with connemaras? Whether its K&M or Cavaletti, I might end up getting a jump and dressage that would hold him over for a few years.
