So after he broke two of his windows in his new stable . . . and I spent the morning clearing up the damage and ordered new, reinforced glass and a two-by-four to put up in front of the window to stop him doing it again, he is spending the night in his now rather well ventilated stable . . . this is him getting to know his neighbour:

Sigh.

P.S. New glass and two-by-four being installed tomorrow . . . I won't sleep much tonight . . .

My wb mare took her window out when I first had her, luckily it was plastic, but she also removed the frame and spent the winter looking out of her window instead of over her door!

Shame separated by a piece of glass, you can see but u can't touch, hope he doesn't do it again, can't u put a grill there so he could touch noses at least

Well if his neighbour doesn't object, this may well be an option . . . his stable has a huuuuuuge overhang and is in a very sheltered position on the yard - plus he has rubber matting on the floor and a good three foot up the walls so is well insulated. If Cobs (horse next door) doesn't object, I may just take the whole window out and put a two-by-four in across the middle to stop him jumping clean out (which he would so do).

Agree with the others... looks like quite a sheltered spot and horses are outside/herd creatures. He was just improving things!

Aw bless him, he looks like a right cheeky chappy :)

You don't know the half of it . . . he has character to burn this horse . . . I can't leave anything within reach b/c he'll pick it up, chuck it, chew it, etc. I do love him, though.

You're right, it is very sheltered . . . may talk to YO about leaving his stable without window panes. He certainly has enough stable rugs to keep him warm, plus he'll be on straw over the winter and has double rubber matting on the floor and thick rubber matting up the walls to about three foot high.
