Rode him today for the first time since we moved him (last Saturday). I lunged him Sunday (in the outdoor school) and Jen (my trainer) rode him Tuesday and Thursday (in the school and on the canter track). I took him into the field today and rode in the 20 x 60 dressage arena. He was amazing! A little "looky" but very brave. Worked beautifully . . . soft, round and over his back in walk - we really need to improve our trot work though (me, not him). Only spooked once (and it was more of a startle than a spook) when Ollie knocked down a pole while jumping in another part of the field (with Jen). Coped with a huuuuuuge delivery van stopping right by the field and letting off its air brakes, ponies and horses walking up and down the lane by the field being turned out and hacked, the goats in the next field and workmen installing a toilet in the yard.

Plan to go up again tomorrow and either ride in the school or in the field again .

He has well and truly settled in his new home . . . I can't tell you how pleased/relieved I am. I do think that nighttime turnout has alot to do with it . . . he spends a good 10 hours out with his friends just mooching, eating, playing . . . being a horse . . . and I'm sure that helps him stay chilled.

Jen did say, though, that once he's brought in in the morning, he calls until all the other horses on the yard are also in . . . silly boy.
