I'm looking into buying a body protector which meets Beta level 3 and have read lots of ecxellent reviews about the Kanteq. However, when I checked the up to date Beta list it doesn't seem to have passed Level 3 2009 - just Level 3 2000. Other protectors I've been thinking of, such as the Racesafe 2010 and the Airowear Outlyne are listed as having met Level 3 2009. The foam used in the Kanteq seems to offer advantages over the others, but I don't want to spend a lot of money on one which is not up to the very latest standard. Can anyone shed light on this?

Sorry cant answer your question but if you give Wendy who owns Kanteq a call she will tell you straight. She is really nice to deal with Her number is on the Kanteq website.

Would be interested to know the outcome as Ive had my Kanteq for over 4 years now. Wouldnt be with out it.

No body protectors have been permitted to be made to the 2000 standard since July 2011.

It's not the clearest it could be but the purple label / Level 3 is the one you want for most protection. From the Kan site:

"This standard [BETA Level 3] is essentially their interpretation of BS EN 13158:2000 and BS EN 13158:2009."

If I had the spare cash (and could justify a new BP anyway!), I'd love one.

nope you are right - kanteq only meet the 2000 standard , one of the reasons i didnt buy one. I spoke to them and was told it was because the new level just came out after they had produced and tested the product.

Thanks for the info. I'll try on the Airowear Outlyne, as it's stocked at my local saddlery shop. That way at least I can see what the fit is like. It seems to have good reviews on here too.
