I just hope she never beats any HHOers... god, there'd be no end of threads slagging her off!

Buns!!! When have there ever been threads slagging someone off because the have been beaten (argh, I cannot write that properly, I have 7 year olds running around the house on a play date and I think they have stolen my brain).

*gives up, looks at clock, wills 6.30 to arrive*

Lol!

I didn't say there has been. I was simply imaging streams of dressage divas in hysterics because an ex page three girl just did something better than them, and possibly because her diamonte browband was actually real diamonds...

I have no time for dressage divas!

I think she did really well too as I said on the other post I just thought she'd be better tbh I read her autobiography and do really like her but from the book you'd think she was very experienced, at 59 secs on she is almost sawing on the horses mouth .

Never really had much of an opinion though I assumed she was quite experienced, from what you hear in the press. But she does have quite harsh hands, a bit more independence would be good. That was the first thing I noticed.
Anyway.....

I really like jordan also but thought the same as you her hands were moving to much and sawing on the horses mouth.

If you turn up the sound really high I think you can hear Pete calling it out to her, bless him! At least someone's got a supportive husband eh?!

apparently he arrived late and missed it all!

(I commented on the other thread !)

Black or brown gloves are definitely a better idea than white. White looks professional, but black or brown are MUCH more forgiving to those of us with less than perfect hands. They won't hide poor hands completely, but they won't telegraph every twitch, either !

I don't think everyone is having a go. They are merely viewing the video, analysing it to some degree and deciding what they think of it. No point saying nice things if that is not what you feel.

i don't think it's bad for a first go, she sits well, she hasn't got independent hands yet (mind you, the horse wasn't exactly being attentive or helpful), but she's upright and pretty correct in a lot of ways. the horse looks as if it's got a fair bit of ability, no reason she can't go a lot higher. good luck to her, i think it's brilliant for the sport that she's getting into it.

I did think her stirrups looked a little uneven thoigh - won't have helped. That horse loks like it's been doing it for years and to be honest looked like it was just having a jaunt round - think it needs a bit moe firm riding! Still, she held it together -mlooks bloody nervous but good on her - I'd be sh*tting it knowing that was going to appear on line!!!

Correct me if im wrong but was she not on the WRONG diagonal on the first trot of the test?? Do you not get marked down for that??

Horse was nice, Katie looked tidy and I hope she does well with her horses!!

(could any dressage divas please explain the Spurs and whip rule in pure dressage and at what levels as I thought that you were eliminated for carrying a whip in the actual test and didnt think spurs were allowed at lower levels??)

Thanks for the link - yes , she looks a little unsure at times , but overall a good impression . I read about her entering when I was on holiday & the newspaper were being a bit sniffy about her . Unfair , I thought as she is no dummy - far from it - she knows how to sell herself .

Now , can I have my naturallyl large bosom reduced ? Used to play merry hell when I rode

There is no such thing as the wrong diagonal.

[/ QUOTE ]

Could you explain what you mean?? As ive always been taught about 'correct' diagonals

Diagonals simply help the horse and rider to balance, it is best if they are correct but you don't get marked down for it.

with regards to whips and spurs, you can ride with these at any level in BD, but if it is a BE test, you can't use a whip in the test, I beleive.

OK, my opinion, for what it's worth is that she's done what she always does and bigged herself up so much then when people see her actually do something (same with her singing) then you're a little left down.

I've got time for the girl but I was a bit concerned at her sawing and I wouldn't say she was a quiet rider (posted on the other post).

Good luck to her though - I just think she needs to learn not to let her entourage big her up in the future!

One other thing to add, is that she is training with a top dressage rider every day and I personally (if I'd been riding since a kid as she claims to) would want to be able to ride a prelim better than that.

That said, I'm a shoddy rider so I guess I shouldn't comment! ha ha

Good luck to her though - perhaps she should try doing things a bit more low key in the future though.....
