I just got my insurance renewal from NFU and its gone up so much - I can't believe it!!!
So on shopping round the policy that appears to be the best replacement is KBIS are they any good please? Or if anyone has any other insurers to recommend I would be grateful for your help!!

Thank you!!

Ive just moved from KBIS to Shearwater and saved myself £130. KBIS were fine with the one claim that I made several years ago but I decided to shop around and saved this much.

Our pony is insured with KBIS - we have had a number of problems with him, and currently have two claims on the go. They paid my vet really quickly (within a couple of weeks) and with no argument.

I'm with SEIB who have been excellent but if I changed insurers, I would go to KBIS as I've heard such good reports about them. My vet recommends them too.

Have been with KBIS for years and have had 2 claims with them - both were paid out promptly with no issues - and their monthly payments dont shoot up after a claim either - Im still paying the same as I was last year despite the claims :)

Good:D Quick to pay out and don't (so far) put silly exclusions on. They were one of the cheapest I saw 3 years ago and I have stayed with them because they have been sympathetic and efficient and always answer the phone!

Mrsdoubtfire, have you read the NFU new terms and conditions on page 7 of the policy ? Sadly they are not viable to insure a horse with anymore. If you search a thread started by me last week titled NFU insurance there is more information.

I have just insured my yearling with KBIS and they were astonished at the wording on the NFU policy. They were helpful and well priced. I cannot comment on claims service and hopefully won't need to.

My old boy was with KBIS and they were brilliant - he had several claims! I also used to process equine claims at a large equine hospital and they were one of the few that were easy to deal with all the time.

Couldn't rate KBIS enough all mine are with them. They have been fab & paid out striahgt away with claims that we have made.

I have a number of horses insured with KBIS, when I lost a very expensive dressage horse I had a cheque through the post in 10 days.
On top of this, their staff are helpfull, friendly and when I lost my boy I received a hand written note to say how sorry they were at the loss of my horse.

You get the feeling they actually care about their customers.

Mine is insured with KBIS Bushies, it's very good, we get a free health check every year and we get his teeth done for free every year as well, I totally recommend it! (:
