Hi there all,
I'm hoping that some of you out there might be able to offer some advice!

My horse has arthritis in his hocks and I worry about them getting cold and achy in his stable at night. He has worm leg wraps for several years, but these only cover his lower legs. I was really pleased to find Thermatex travel boots as they are the same material as the wraps, but they tended to end up like ankle warmers by morning, as I did them up loose round his hocks so he could bend his legs to lie down. They had no stiffners in them, they are just layers of Thermatex material. I have bought some Polly travel boots, as they are stiffer but he could still bend his legs easily. I am worried however that they may be too thick and warm and they are not wicking. I read (on this forum I think) that overheating legs with boots is a dangerous thing to do, and I was wondering if anyone has any brainwaves? I can't use bandages as this would take staff at the yard too long on the nights I'm not there. Thanks in advance! I won't get your replies this afternoon as I'm off to ride, but look forward to getting them tomorrow!

Premier Equine used to do hock protectors made of the same stuff as their wicking leg wraps....

My horse has arthritis and you can get magnetic thermatex hock wraps from Aerborn (one in Nottingham - but think do have web-site) not mega cheap but warm and magnetic to get blood to circulate. Nornmally do stay on too
