Keeping horses next to electric substations and pylons?

I potentially have the (once in a lifetime) opportunity to buy some land and a dilapidated farmhouse. But, it is next to a large electric substation and there is a pylon on the land. Does anyone have any experience of living/keeping horses next to a substation/pylons and has it caused any problems?

Yes. Riding school used to keep ponies out by a substation and it is now rented by a large livery yard. No apparent problems.

We have a pylon in the field next door and the cables cross over our field.
99 percent of the time no problems at all. However on occasions I have felt the bit actually tingling in the horses mouth, we have given each other small electric shocks and beleive it or not I have received mini shocks off the electric fence when its not connected. Quite often this is when the weather is heavy or damp.
The biggest probelm was all of last year we had National Grid changing the cables, hence large scaffolding. It was an absolute nightmare but luckily we had a good land agent and managed to get compensation.
It certainly would not put me off of buying a property though.

Our yard has them running through most of the fields and the horses are fine and dont seem bothered by them at all.

Some pylons seem to carry more power than others, eg from Hunterston power station, these pylons definitely zing all the time, but horses won't stay under scary things, so I don't think there is a health issue.

Yes we have pylon running through horses field with no problems and the farmer has hooked up the electric fencing to it too, god knows how as the shock from it is tiny.

We have a big pylon and transformer in one field, it does hum in damp weather and i can feel tingling if I am underneath it. My chesnut ISH seemed to be upset by it wouldn't settle, so put one of the others in they seem fine.

we have a big pylon. hums a bit when damp but certainly never been a problem
