My boy has a sarcoid on his eye and he keeps rubing it and making it bleed.. to stop this i've got him a fly mask, without ears and nose. It has solved the problem but was thinking that I cant really keep it on him fovever?
Does anybody have any suggestions or have this trouble with there horse?
Please no horror stories on sarcoids.
Cheers

Can't give you any advice on you sarcoid sorry, but I used to keep a fly mask on my horse 24/7 for his Uevitis. If it helps until you can get treatment for the sarcoid it won't hurt.

My girly wears one as skin condition is aggrevated by sun - I put a headcollar over top to keep it on. I have two and chnge it every couple of days for hygiene as eye infections are last thing i need on top of everything else!

I leave one on 24/7 when its very fly-y. I have 2 as well that are different designs so he's not wearing the same one all the time, which helps prevent rubs.

My mare is in one 24/7 in the summer with no problems. I have two different ones (different brand) as I do find that using the same one constantly tends to cause small rubs, by swapping every 3 or 4 days this doesn't happen.

Treatment wise for the sarcoid have you tried the liverpool cream? It's a chemo developed by liverpool uni which is applied by the vet and basically kills the sarcoid cells and the thing drops off - it's work asking about as we found very effective.
