keeping turkeys with chickens... anyone know about this?

we've got about 25 chickens and are getting 20 turkeys to rear for xmas...

we have a lovely little area which is ideal for the turkeys to go in,, next to the chicken area. but i've heard you shouldn't mix them.... in which case they're going to have to go up by the horses. and steal a bit of my horse area. huh.

anyone know? x
 
If they are turkey poults make sure they are no where near your hens.
I can't remeber the disease that they catch,
but I mixed mine some years ago and nearly lost all the poults.
The turkeys will start to scour yellow droppings.
The next day they will be dead

Blackhead is what they catch - we always fed turkey poults on Marriages turkey starter with the antiblackhead in it and kept them away from the hens.
