I've just bought a beautiful new chestnut gelding who arrived with 4 pristine white stockings, lovely white blaze and lots of white in his tail... One week on and the only thing that's still white is part of his blaze! Any tips on getting him white again? And keeping him pristine? (Apart from never letting him out of the stable again!) Thanks!

Move.
Somewhere where the ground is frozen and the snow is deep. I would bore you with a photo but fortunately for you Photobucket is down.

No, seriously, shampoo and warm water, I had a white hunter, he sparkled at the Meet every week - until we got halfway across the first field. Shampoo was my friend. I also used champion Silver - but rinse very well afterwards :)

Oh, and braid his tail up, do not let him out without it tied up or bagged.

Girls on my yard put baby oil on them they say it stops the mud from sticking I haven't tried this though! Iv just brought a 17.2 grey and he's literally black haha. Iv given up trying to make him look white for now lol xx

What about turnout boots ? Never used them , my lad has masses of feather - well more like mud dreadlocks at the moment . Would love to keep them white and fluffy but then he'd have to be booted up during riding too. Premier Equine do some nice boots .

Ok chillipup - I'll try (never posted photos before so apologies if this goes wrong!)

This was when he first arrived and all nice and clean! (Excuse the rugs - they were a temporary measure!)

Thank you for all the advice! HGA - do I use the tablets dissolved in water like shampoo??!
