So, after posting on here the other day about having brought my rescue dog home, I asked what breed(s) she could be 'made of'. Someone did mention kelpie and the more I look at her and given some things she does - ie the 'crouch' whilst waiting for a toy I am wondering if she does actually have kelpie in there somewhere. I looked at some pics today of black and tan kelpies and some are the spit of her! I am now wondering if she's pure kelpie? Are kelpies a pure breed as such=or are they like border collies - ie no specific breed look or whatever it is?

Does anyone on here have one and, if so what do you do with them? I am thinking she may make a good agility or flyball dog as even at 9mths she automatically brings toys/balls back to you.

Can anyone post pic of their kelpies??

My sister has a kelpie. She's in to agility and already has a collie, but kelpies are the new big thing in agility so, of course, she had to have one!

Here he is @ 31 weeks:-

The main difference I have noticed between collies and kelpies is that collies take life far more seriously!

Seeing that pic make me suspect even more she is kelpie (or at least kelpie x). This is she

I hope to get some better pics if I can get her to stay stay still long enough! Lol.
I need to take one of her with her ears up - they are HUGE!!!

I would say yours is definitely kelpie! Mine's ears stand upright when she's alert too and they're just massive. Looks to be a kelpie trait. I just thought she was some terrier x collie but I am reconsidering!

lol... my one was found in a country lane with her siblings at approx. 5-6 weeks old, with very swollen tummies and kennel cough.. they were extremely wormy and for the first few weeks of having her after the rescue people had sorted them out she produced very very runny poos... they had all had very bad worms... and stomach bugs caused by being fed in very unhygenic conditions.... she was also very food possesive for a puppy.. so guess mum and pups had not been fed much.. suspect do as you likies as previous owners.. but will never know... she and her siblings are now in very good homes.. she is a real character... very obedient and collie like.. :)
