a friend of mine has a yorkie pup that has caught kennel cough, vet is treating it with Synulox, to no avail. is there something else anyone can recommend?
Yup, we use Children's Benylin, about 5 ml for a 22kg dog.
However you would need to check with your Vet to make sure it wasn't going to react with any medication he was aready getting.
Benylin is what my vet advised, just give a teaspoon of it. It does seem to help. I hope the puppy recovers. I took my new puppy to the vet for her jabs and took my old dog for company. They both came away with Kennel Cough and it was the finish of the old dog, I had her pts this morning. She had a slight heart murmur but the KC made her so ill, she ended up with heart failure. It can be a serious thing for elderly dogs.
