There has been an outbreak of Kennel cough at the yard. Cara has been kept away due to having an op on her foot so I will just have to keep her away a bit longer. Just not sure how long. I was under the impression that a dog was only infectious until they stopped coughing, i was told today though that the vet had said they could be infectious for as long as 1-2 months after the cough stops.
Does anybody know for sure? I don't want to have to keep her away for that long although I will if necessary. Thanks. x

It seems to be doing the rounds in Scotland atm and even if your dog is innoculated against it there are so many strains you wouldnt know whether your dog was vunerable or not.

In this instance I woud speak to my own vet for peace of mind rather than relying on someone elses information.

I do hope Cara dosnt catch it and her foot heals soon.

I agree with Dobiegirl about checking with your own vet, but mine are currently getting over kennel cough and my vet said to keep them away from other dogs for 2 weeks after the coughing started.
