Hi there, i have a spaniel who was diagnosed with kennel cough a couple of weeks ago. The cough has never been a major issue , we just had a bit of phlegm throwing up and coughing for a couple of days. She was put on amoxycare the first week. After a week i noticed her breathing was noisy and she was having to work at breathing so took her back to vets. She was put on oxycare this time as her chest was noisy. This was tuesday.
My question is should i be seeing an improvement by now? Although her breathing isnt as noisy , she is still having to work at it. I also realised today she seems to be looking thinner. She isnt really off her food and is still pretty lively.
She was diagnosed with a low grade murmour (sp?) as a pup but its never bothered her. Should i now be asking the vets to consider its not just kennel cough going on here? Not one single dog, (including my other dog) that had contact with her before the cough started , have developed it
