I’ve got two ponies to fit. One is a wide section A, one is a wide section B but with a bit of wither.

I do not have 3000 to get brand new saddles fitted to these ponies - with the best will in the world!

I’ve seen a second hand K&M and a Monarch pony club. Has anyone any experience of these on native types please? I’m happy to go and get the saddle adjusted and reflocked for the ponies, but I can’t justify a new one each. No one in my area does secondhand sales so it’s always a nightmare with a new pony.

I have an old Exselle which fits the B but is too short. And finding another Exselle is not proving easy!

Also I want GP/jump rather than straight cut ‘working hunter’ which rules out 80% of the pony saddle market.

Any suggestions welcome please!

If you can get these at a good price which means you can sell on with out risking too much. Its worth a gamble. I have just done the same as like you struggled to find a saddle fitter stocking second hand. I have got lucky and just needed some flocking, but I did have an idea of what might suit us.

They will fit some natives, but not all, by any means. It's a gamble so buy at the right price. I personally prefer a good used wooden tree used saddle, you'll find some suitable types of saddles on the FB group "used specialist native pony....".
