My friend is thinking of getting the kent and masters dressage saddle s series for her cob. She has been offered one at a really good price, second hand. She already has a kent and masters gp saddle for him and it fits him really well. Just wondered if anybody out there rides a cob with this saddle. The saddle does have an adjustable gullet.

I had the cob dressage saddle, is that what you mean or is it different? The K&M Cob dressage fitted my flat backed native well but has a very flat seat so doesn't make you feel all that secure IMO. As an aside, just because the GP fits him doesn't necessarily mean the dressage version will, it's not a given.

I have a Kent and Masters s series dressage saddle for my HW maxicob. It has a flat tree so suits flat backed horses, it's a different tree I believe to their other saddles (but could be wrong on that). It's more upmarket than the cob dressage saddle, when its on the horse you would think it was a 2k saddle.

No guarantee that it will fit your friend's horse, of course, even with the adjustable gullet, but if it's a good price it may be worth a punt.

Thanks for that, I will pass on the feedback.

I have a Cob GP and Cob Dressage.
They both fit him perfectly with the same sized gullet in. I find the seat fine. It's much deeper compared to the GP, but obviously not as deep as a lot of other dressage saddles.
