I am looking for some advice. I am currently using my Ideal Jessica dressage saddle on my young horse. I had it checked when I first got her (6months ago) and it fitted well. She has changed shape so much and it is now beginning to sit to the left when I ride. She also become quite sticky in the canter transition so I called the saddler straight away. He is coming tomorrow. I have a feeling he is going to tell me my saddle is no good. I have checked it myself, I'm no expert but do have an equine degree so not totally incompetent.
Normally the thought of a new saddle would excite me but since moving to the US I find it hard to trust my instinct with things, especially when it comes to dealing with brands/products I've never used.
I'm thinking something adjustable is what I need, she is going to change shape again, plus she lost a lot of weight this winter so I'm kind of expecting that again. My mums horse has a Kent and Masters Jump saddle (bought in the UK) that fits her really well. I prefer it too the Wintec because its leather but not as dear as the Bates or Fairfax (which I cant get here).
So to cut a long story short does anyone have experience of the K&Ms dressage saddle. After having a look online I think I prefer the look of the s-series but am open to any advice. Will discuss with my saddle man and have him bring some.

Thanks :)

I had a kent and masters dsg saddle as my every day riding saddle for about three years. It fitted my horse beautifully and was a nice looking saddle. Much lighter than my albion or my current saddle. The only reason I swapped it was because I didnt feel that the knee blocks were big enough for me. I have problems with my back and wanted something to give me more support.

Thank you. I think that's why I prefer the look of the a series. The seat looks deeper and the knee blocks bigger. I always have trouble because I'm only 5ft 2 so some knee blocks just sit in the wrong place for me. I like my mums jump saddle on her so I think it's worth a go. Thanks again :)

I dont think the s series existed when I got mine. On my k&m, the knee block attaches with velcro so could be moved to suit leg length so that would probably work well for you.

I have a cob Kent and masters dressage saddle.
I stand to be corrected, but I think the s series is built for low withers, chunky cobs and has short point of tree. The other series is for the more elegant withered beast and is build with that in mind. Don't base your decision on how it looks, they are built for different types.
That said, my Albion feels more solid, but the k and m is v comfy and good value.

I've got an S series dressage saddle. It has the moveable blocks, which I like. I also trialled the monoflap version, which has a big fixed knee block on the outside of the flap, and I didn't like that one at all.

I like to be able to move easily in a saddle, and not be wedged in. I get on well with my S series, and I agree with teasbiscuit that they have a fairly flat tree. My horse is a HW maxicob.

They are very decent saddles for the money.

Thank you so much for all the advice. I will defiantly be trying with a saddle fitter so will have a good feel. I also don't like being locked in so maybe it would work well. My horse is a 16hh Irish sports horse, very short backed and powerful so hopefully it will suit her
