Have taken the plunge and told saddler that I would be willing to look at a brand new saddle, he is ringing me tomorrow to confirm whether he has anything in stock second hand but doubts there will be many big enough for my leg (6ft4) but said that a Kent and masters would be perfect. Does anyone have one of these?? He has none in second hand but they seem very reasonable so buying brand new is a possibility, but if this is the case which one??

I got a Kent and Masters pony jump saddle just before Christmas and I love it. I needed the pony one as it had to fit the widest silver bar, it is 16.5 inch and is a good fit for me.. It needed no breaking in and was very comfy from day one.. The leather is lovely and soft and it is much lighter than most saddles.

I have an S-series jump. I really like it, its not hugely blocky but its helped me out a few times! No experience of the original to compare though xx

I'm leaning towards the original as I prefer the look but depends which fits best I suppose!!! Thanks for your replies :-)

I have an S series on my 15.2hh mostly Connemara as my saddler said that tree suited him well (my dressage saddle is a Thorogood so same tree). I have very short legs and always feel very secure in the jumping saddle. I use it for SJ and XC as well as hacking. It's very comfy and I use it almost every day and it's still in excellent condition. They also have the adjustable gullet.

I had fitter out to try both of these last week. She told me they are very different shapes, so suit different shaped horses. The s series has much longer points so suits something fit with wither. The original is better for flatter backs. Neither fitted my horse! I ended up with a 2nd hand patriot instead

I was told the same as pickwickayr. I have two, one on a tb and the other on a narrow conn x. I think they are well designed from the horse's point of view.

Well unfortunately neither are suitable for my lad, it scares me to say it but looking at a new ideal Impala... Which fits really well, may just have to be a little creative when telling my OH The price!!! Yikes....
