On the website for Feb 15th, it just says that they're meeting at the Dolphin in Betchworth... Now I've never been, but do they actually mean meeting there and going on a hunt? yeah please don't laugh, I feel ridiculous asking but on the website it just has 'February 15th , The Dolphin, Betchworth'. If I'm not being a wally and it is a hunt and not just some pub gatherthing, anyone going? Has anyone been before? What are the fences like and does anyone know if theres always a way around them? Sorry for the questions but I'm terrified of going on my own and being the 'only one' (i'm sure I wouldn't be, but its a weird fear) not jumping and not finding a way around. I can jump up to 3ft, but it would depend on the fence and how I'm feeling.

Also, anyone going to the meet on March 1st at Lowbridge Farm? Much like my questions about the 15th, what are the fences like etc? :)

Yes I'm a numpty and I've only hunted once so apologies for all the questions! Thanks in advance, and chocolates for yourself and carrots for your neddies for getting this far!

I have no idea and can’t answer any off your questions, but if you are going I would love to join you (I’m in Kent)! Me and my horsey have never hunted before though so don’t know if we would be out of our depth????

it's quite common for hunts to meet in pub car parks - long standing tradition. for the K&S you have to phone them the day before to check details of parking etc anyway so they'll tell you where to park. if you want to know more about the jumps then phone the secretary but normally with drag and bloodhounds they're optional, not always though. i was thinking about going out with the K&S but have enjoyed my 3 outings with the Sandhurst draghunt so much I've taken a subscription out with them so will be getting out as much as possible once this weather goes away!

That would be great, although I've hunted before I pretty much still think of myself as a total novice still-- especially as my pony's never hunted, only showjumped. I'd love to not be the only one jumping the smaller fences xD

And thanyou, that's very helpful. When I next go to the yard I'll ask about and see if all is possible, and providing it is, I'll have my Mum ring them to ask. :)
