m putting my horse on shavings tomo as while i LOVE my straw bed it has to be done while my horse is on full box rest over the coming months ( standing in despite my best stable hygene my horse has such wet smelly feet ! ).

Ive just been out and bought 6 bales of hunter shavings as i prefur these but the bales have gone upto 5.95 ( i used to pay 5.20 last year ) and i have to drive to the place to get them.

How much do you pay for your shavings and where do you get them from?.

I can srore upto 30 bales if i need to in my horsebox.

I have tried other brands but whilest i love hunter shavings if i need more than 2 a week its getting into silly money!.

Id like to know how cheaply you can get the proper dust extracted shavings from.

I can get woodburn ones from the yard @5.65 but they are so small and bitty id use loads of those- 3 bales a week.

Any ideas of where to get shavings from in the area that wont break the bank?

thanks

WE use the hunter shavings and the Euro???? something with are £7 but are larger and packed tighter - ive found that the hunters now fall apart when you open them so your not really getting value for money !!

I like Nedz Beds which is like chopped hemp. they've gone up to 6.25 a bale but I've found some imitation bales at 5.50
In box rest I was going through 2 bales of shavings a week, and 1 bale when just in a night. With the hemp I use one every two weeks
