Kent People- where is the best hacking?

I’m so bored of the hacking around by us, it's rubbish! Went out this morning though the woods by us and they have put down loads of stones down (chalky hardcore stuff), and it’s completely ruined the woods. It defiantly wasn’t good on a barefoot horse and I couldn’t turn around as they had started shooting. Yes I have had clay raining down on my and bodes before. They shoot right next to the bridle path.

So my horsebox is ready in April and I want to get myself out to some decent hacking because I really miss having a good canter. So where can I go? Is there anyone out there that would want to meet me????

Where abouts are you? Our hacking is absolutely rubbish - all road work! But we have just become members of TROT and once my boy is back and sound we will be off for some adventures!! Other than that we go down to camber sands for a lovely canter!!!!

We are on Detling Hill, Maidstone. I’m planning to go down to Camber (which takes about an hour) but I thought horses were only allowed on from November to March?
How did you find out about TROT?

We have a yard near to Canterbury and the hacking is excellent - plenty of bridleways, Chartham Woods, the Wye ride and we ourselves have a 40 acre farm ride and x-country course on our yard - probably about 40 mins from Maidstone

The TROT rides are meant to be good aswell

I'm a member of the North Downs Riding Club, it's £100 a year and you get access to over 1000 acres of riding (think that's what it amounts to??) and is based up at Speedgate, near Brands Hatch. Off road riding, great for cantering and having a bit of a blast, fantastic views, optional cross country fences at various stages around the area and good parking, would highly recommend if you are close enough to use it regularly to make the permit worthwhile.
