Kepping flies off a sarcoid?

My mare has a wart type sarcoid between her front legs. The flies have been at it and its a bit pink. What else can I try to keep the flies away.

Tried Sudocrem which didn't stick long. Don't want to put fly spray on it. Have been using Cornucresine which sticks really well but doesn't last all day.

Spray plaster then put fly gel around the area??

I use toothpaste on sarcoids, which sticks really well, and therefore keeps the flies away.

I use it all the time for things in awkward places that need some protection

One of my boys had one temporarily and I used rubber-based glue - Copydex - with a little gauze to cover the sarcoid completely but still meant that the air could circulate. The glue stuck well to his coat and was easily rubbed off for reapplication.

Yellow fly cream, as recco'd by vets.
Does the job of keeping flies off but stains well too.

I thought my boy had a Sarcoid and after advice on here I used Vaseline. I was advised not to use anything which promoted healing as that wud mean new cell growth which could make the Sarcoid worse... Does that make sense.... It must have been explained better to me!

I wouldn't mess around with a sarcoid - ask your vet what to use and what to do about it. There is too much potential for a sarcoid to turn nasty if you put the wrong thing on it.
