Keratex Hoof Hardener

Ive used it multiple times and it does seem to help. If you do use it, absolutely make sure you wear gloves and dont breathe it in as it contains formaldehyde (one of the "ingredients" they use to embalm bodies!).

Oh heck, use it outdoors might be best, it can cause respiratory issues amongst other things. I found the little brush that comes with it pretty useless and used a hoof brush that comes with its own cover, so you can safely put the hoof brush back into its holder without it going everywhere.

I have used it - but it is incredibly toxic. Currently getting really good results from red horse strong horn. Every horse is unique and the keratex does work. But I am delighted to have discovered something for my lad which is less toxic - to him and to me!

I’ve used it for the same reason with great success. I’ve found the best way is to hold the bottle between my knees when applying (assuming you’ve got a horse that is good to have feet picked out). I put it on the floor once and accidentally knocked it over. It’s pretty expensive to waste! I don’t find the smell unpleasant so haven’t taken any extra precautions.

He's a little star so thankyou for the tip

Keratex is a very, very expensive way of buying 8% formaldehyde. Just buy formaldehyde off ebay instead, water it down to 8% and use that.
